The leather is full grain, aniline dyed leather with a breathable, lightly protective finish. It passes the following tests: ASTM D-5053, ASTM D-3884, CAL 117, NFPA-260, ASTM E84, and CAL 133. Recommended cleaning instructions suggest dusting regularly. Minor Spots can be washed off using lukewarm water and mild soap. Do not soak, and never clean with abrasive solvents, alcohol, or wax-based products. Approved maintenance products are also available from Spinneybeck. Portofino is produced from a premium selection of raw material. This unique tannage and prolonged milling process provide a heavy weight, enlarged grain texture suppleness unmatched by any other type of leather in its class.

The PH Artichoke pendant lamp was designed and made by by Poul Henningsen in 1958. The structure is made of twelve steel arches. On this structure PH (Poul Henningsen) placed 72 copper "leaves" in twelve circular rows with six blades in each row. Because each row is staggered from the previous, all 72 leaves are able to cover for each other. This design allows viewing the fixture from any angle without being able to see the light source located in thecenter of the PH artichoke. It also reflects the light onto the underlying leaves, giving distinct, unique illumination. The original lamps were developed for a restaurant in Copenhagen, and they are still hanging there today. The finish includes copper or stainless steel--brushed, or lacquered. The leaves on the lamp are die cut copper, laser cut stainless steel, or die cut steel. The top shade consists of white, spun steel and the frame is made of lustre chrome plated, laser cut steel. The suspension of the pendant lamp is high lustre chrome plated, spun aluminum.
